Masala Fish Fingers
Masala Fish Fingers – One of my fave comfort foods from my childhood that my Ba (Grandmother) used to make for me at least once a week after I came home from school.
Great memories flooding back when I make this for my kids too.
You can either slap on the masala marinade to the frozen fish fingers and leave to defrost for a couple of hours OR
as I did cook the fish fingers either in an air fryer or the oven for a couple of mins less than stated on the packaging and then smother on the masala on one side.
Ingredients
- 5 fish fingers (or you can use a whole pack of 10 – just make twice the qty of your masala)
For the Masala marinade
- 4-5 Cloves of garlic whizzed into a paste
- Squeeze of a half a Lemon
- Good Sprinkle of Salt & pepper
- 1 Tsp of Red Chilli Powder (I used Kashmiri)
- 1 Tsp Tumeric
- 1 Tsp Garam masala
- ½ Tsp’ish of Smoked paprika
- Approx 4 tablespoons of Oil (I used Rapeseed today)
For the Garnish if you’re feeling fancy
- Pickled pink Onions
- My version of homemade tartare
Please follow and DM me on our Socials and will send you the recipes for these
- Wedge of lemon and thinly sliced cucumber
Instructions
- Cook your Frozen fish fingers (Air fryer or oven your choice) couple of mins less than per instructions
- While your FF’s are cooking – In a large bowl Add all your other ingredients for your Masala and mix well.
- Once your FF’s are done smother with your masala marinade on one side
- Heat oil in a frying pan and place masala side down for 2 mins on low/medium heat and smother the top side with rest of your masala – Flip over for another 2 mins
- Plate up and serve simply with some ketchup OR go Flash like I did – OR make into a Spicy FF Sarnie!
Enjoy! May Spice Be With You!
