Chicken Tikka Butter Masala Pasta Recipe

Winter Series – Episode 1 Spiced Up (Proper) Comfort Food

Just love making this simple recipe combining two faves into one!

This is PROPER comfort food!!

So easy, simple & really tasty. You can make the Tikka Masala Paste all in one roasting dish too, so saves on the washing up!

Get Spiced Up and give it a go!

Serves 2-4 – Depends how hungry you all are?

 Ingredients

  • 1 x Tblspn of Crème Fraiche
  • Approx 8 – 10 Chunks of Chicken Tikka
    • (I already had some left over. If you don’t you could use a chicken breast fillet or couple of chicken thigh fillets and cook through your paste)
  • Grated parmesan
  • Approx 200-250g of Pasta – I love Rigatoni with this
  • Handful of Fresh chooped coriander

All you need to make your Masala Butter Paste:

  • Approx 250-300g of baby toms – I used baby plum toms
  • 1 x Large Red Chilli
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • Small Knob of Ginger peeled
  • 1 tblspn of Tom Puree
  • 2 Tblspns of Oil

A Good Sprinkling of all of the following Spices

  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 Tsps Ground Coriander & Cumin
  • 1 tsp Tumeric
  • 2 Tsps Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 2 tsps of Kastoori Methi

How to…

  1. Chuck your Toms & chopped Onion into your roasting dish and add your Oil.
  2. Followed by all your Garlic, Ginger & Red Chill.
  3. Add all your spices and give it a good shake and mix up!
  4. Chuck in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30mins
  5. Boil up up your Pasta.
  6. After 25-30 mins take out your Spicy Tom, Onion mix out the Oven, and then put into a blender to whizz into a paste. Add your tomato puree at this stage. Also give it a taste and check your seasoning.
  7. Chop up your pieces of Chicken Tikka
  8. Heat a Tblspoon of ghee in a large frying pan add in your Masala paste, chopped up chicken tikka, a couple of spoons of pasta water and a dollop of Crème Fraiche  – Give it a good mix and heat for 5 mins
  9. Add in your pasta and mix through
  10. Serve with Grated parmesan and fresh chopped coriander.
